A Good Item for Your Shelf

Got a notice from the Justice Research and Statistics Association today that this year's SAC Publication Digest is out. If you don't know SACs are the states' Statistical Analysis Centers and that SACs put out some of the best descriptive and analytical work in crim just policy, this is your chance to familiarize yourself. As the notice says, "This Digest contains abstracts of state Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) reports published January – June 2006, including reports produced for the SACs by outside authors or organizations. The SACs are state agencies that collect, analyze, and disseminate justice data, and these reports cover a wide array of topics and analysis approaches for criminal justice data at the state level." To review it, go to http://www.jrsa.org/pubs/sac-digest/index.html and choose Digest #4 from the drop-down menu. You'll be impressed with the scope and the work. [Don't let my once having been a SAC director make you think I'm biased.]
