Line 'em Up 'n' Shoot 'em

Imagine I proposed an alternative sanction program that had a demonstrated, guaranteed failure rate of 50%, give or take, most of the time. Not only that, where it had been run, it turned out that people who completed it were many times more likely to die than people who had not been sentenced to it. AND, women actually died more frequently than men who went through it. AND, it was more expensive than anything else we could do. You think your state should adopt it? Are you calling the folks with the white coats to come take me away?

I just described prison.
