Who Watches the Watchmen

Though not directly related to sentencing and corrections issues, the unfolding scandal over the dismissal of six United States Attorneys by Main Justice has absolutely everything to do with the even-handed administration of our federal criminal justice system. Two superb articles published today will and should leave any sentient person -- Republican or Democrat, Liberal, Conservative or Moderate -- reeling. The first article, "A Few Angry Lawyers," appears in Slate and was written by Emily Bazelon. The Washington Post provides exhaustive coverage in this suberb story published this evening. Forget the Libby trial, folks - this is the story to follow.
