Finding New Paths

Since drug trade is the ultimate “squeezing the toothpaste tube,” that is, press down on it one place, it will soon bulge out somewhere else, it was interesting to find only at the end of this self-congratulatory story on the effect of presently successful Mexican efforts to crack down on its coke and meth exporters a mention that meth distribution from Canada has picked up. As we’ve said before, any success in limiting supply is welcome (even if, as the article notes, the higher prices may draw some bigger guns into the arena), but we need to be prepared as well for later bulges and hopefully not wait for them to happen before we’re able to take action.
