Internetting Opinion Polls

Anne Reed at Deliberations has an interesting post up on how “interneting” opinion polls through a “wisdom of crowds” logic might be the thing of the future. For a fee, you can get a question or questions networked out to other sites for rapid response. From her experience with testing it, it sounds like it’s still in the toddler trying to take that first step phase, but she’s right that it’s an intriguing possibility for a variety of uses, even maybe for sentencing commissions or departments of corrections looking for cheap, easy ways to get and demonstrate public feedback on their issues. I just wish I had these kinds of entrepreneurial ideas so I could quit the day job . . . and this unpaid evening job maybe, too.
