1 + 1 = 2

USA Today runs a short but sweet article on reentry efforts as states struggle with the reality that prison has a hard time reforming people and may even make them better offenders when they come out. (You “at least we stop their crimes while they’re behind bars” folks, the research doesn’t show that you stop all releasees from committing more crimes over their lifetimes than they would have if you’d left many of them alone.) Some examples of a few efforts to whet your whistle (I’ve been saying that a lot lately, don’t know why). Nice to have these folks stay on this issue while the rest of the news media keeps debating whether waterboarding is just swimming.
