This Might Beat Everything

So much money on enforcement and punishment when maybe the best way to get at offenders is simply to run commercials like the one I heard on the way to the airport to get back home this morning. Just an interview with a young mother with two kids whose husband got picked up on a weapons charge, a young woman explaining what it's like to have her loved one hauled off in front of her kids, a young woman facing a hard life made harder by that loved one, a young woman who might just be the example other loved ones with young women will think about before doing something stupid again. Seriously. Why isn't this one of our premier approaches to stopping this crap?
