Hatfields and McCoys

Turns out the McCoys (the real ones, of course) all these years have had "a rare, inherited disease that can lead to hair-trigger rage and violent outbursts." It's called "Von Hippel-Lindau disease, which afflicts many family members, can cause tumors in the eyes, ears, pancreas, kidney, brain and spine." If it can be inherited, then it can be subjected to bioengineering, one of the three rungs of technocorrections. And, if it can be contained or eliminated through both removal of those tumors (as the story indicates it has for some McCoys) or genetic reversal, then it raises questions about the sources of violence and mens rea and what the appropriate public response should be to offenses committed by these folks.

Just a little something to get your brain working on the weekend. No need to thank me.
