LA Times Prison Debate

Throughout this week, the Los Angeles Times is publishing opposing perspectives on that state's crime/prison crisis from Mike Reynolds, a prominent California victims' rights advocate, and Dr. Barry Krisberg, the president of the National Council on Crime and Delinquency.

In the ongoing debate, captioned "Prisons Break: Should California be aiming to reduce its prison population, and if so, how can we do that without putting dangerous criminals back on the streets?," Reynolds and Krisberg appear to stake out the conventional right/left positions on criminal justice policy.
