Apathy Epidemic

My experience in MD when I was there was that the Baltimore Sun was actually a better paper in most ways than the increasingly putrid Washington Post. Here’s some of the evidence why, a post in The Situationist on the Sun’s efforts to alert and mobilize the city to the scary increases in murders that have again started hitting that (I’m sorry) sad city. The post rightly praises the paper but, being about situational contexts for perceptions, the blog uses the Sun’s series to discuss the importance of context in dealing with violent crime and the current “apathy epidemic” in Baltimore, which is why I’m posting about it. The Situationist is one of our best blogs right now so, if you haven’t checked them out yet, let this be your excuse to do so now.
