A Man On Fire

Last week I linked to a startling column by political columnist Tom Moran in the Newark Star Ledger about Newark Mayor Cory Booker's announced crusade against New Jersey's drug laws - a crusade born of intense, bitter frustration at the bloodshed that continues to envelop that city.

This article in Salon, "Why Cory Booker is mad as hell: Enraged by his city's unfair drug policies, the Newark mayor vows to stop being polite and start making a difference," covers much of the same ground as Moran's column but still makes for worthwhile reading.

One thing is absolutely certain in New Jersey: at long last, proponents of reform have a resolute, articulate, highly visible and credible champion in Mayor Booker.
