Right Ways and Wrong Ways

Nice juxtaposition of stories today, this one about CT's multi-decade problems with parole and no parole, especially in light of the brutal murders of three white women by parolees there, and the unlikely prospect of getting it right even now and this one about WA's efforts to actually do it right, with apparently some success. The stories of why some states can make it work and others don't would keep a whole academic program at work for generations.
